Evian, source of luxury

"Holy water"

Californians are promoting tap water in restaurants ! On the contrary, Evian enhances its pureness through limpid and glamorous design in New-York and Paris.

On one hand, the brand has launched last summer its first premium bottle « Evian Palace » for clubs and luxury hostels. And the polished plastic and its metallic spout make real illusion. An up-market illusion to conquest the biggest world market
of still water in bottle.

On the other hand, with the artistry of Jean-Paul Gaultier, Evian introduces
a « Haute Couture » version of the bottle made by Baccarat house which is the first
of 5 unique pieces. Luxury, is definitely a valuable trend.

Do you want a piece of chart ?

« Save, Share & Eat »

What is in common between charts, a tableware collection and a pie ? An illustrated shape –original and simple- that has been converted into useful objects for aperitif by French designers 5.5 and a very graphic cake created by New-Yorkers Mary & Matt !

Both of them have the same aim : to satisfy the needs related to new food behaviors such as « Le Fooding or finger food » phenomenon and our appetites for beauty-tasty food.

It is important to underline the 5.5 as they go beyond aesthetic design with their « Save a product » initiative. An initiative which illustrates the designers will to avoid industrial and commercial wasting because of a non-successfull conclusion ordered by their glassworker client. They bought up the stock in order to give it a second chance.

3ème Oeil : a human-centered virtuality

« Interactive design in the name of prospective »

It is not easy to understand what is the real job of 3ème ŒIL a French design agency based in Paris. We know few about it, see nothing about their works and that does not help clearly to catch the purpose of their activity.

In fact, 3ème Œil is dedicated to interactive design that goes beyond mechanical limits, screen interfaces and virtuality itself. Their main part and key-word is virtuality. A virtually at the crossroad of several know-hows : industrial design, human factors, engineering, communication design, architecture, human-computer interactions, semiology, user-experience design, cinema… What a program !

This is the reason why they define themselves as a design(s) agency. : they « virtualize » spaces with today and tomorrow technologies. Their way of expressing future or what could be possible is no more real and tangible prototypes -such as in
a common innovative process- but mini-fictions. And this, in order to help decision-makers (their clients) in the project feasability, its perspectives, its comprehension and appropriation project managers or staff.

So what is interactive design ? According to 3ème Œil, interactive design is everywhere because it shapes our everyday life : in our way of acting or moving in any places or moments we live. Interactive design creates an intelligent dialogue between users and their products, through many particulars : usability, affordance, transfer and metaphor, sound, spaces and services, gestures and languages, texture, emotion and motion.

More than all these elements, the agency leitmotiv is creating value through intelligent interfaces that help users to understand the process of the information
vs instantaneous results. So, a new dialogue between us and products is on the go.

Still confidential today, the emergence of this « sensitive technology » in our own reality toddles along with simple objects you can « talk » with, whithout direct connection and generating intuitive interaction (have a look at the Mir:ror launched by Violet last october).

Innovating Picardie

« New perspectives for the Planet »

When economics speaks about innovation, poles of competitiveness are often quoted. But seldom is the information about researchers and their upstream projects. For a week, the County of Picardy communicates on its will to gather researchers and industrialists towards general public.

The campaing puts a sense of honor to advance the benefits of the research for our everyday life in particular… and for the planet generally : clean technologies, nutrition, health…

For example, with water in powder -we could have anti-fire walls releasing some water in the contact of a flame or avoiding massive watering while sowing seeds and water in powder ! The replacement of non organic materials in our current batteries by substances stemming from much less polluting vegetables.... Even lowering of the weight of trains has consequences for the user : 15 passengers more by made-up train.

Today, Picardie is offering us new perspectives of understanding what upstream innovation is !

When fair trade rocks music

« Sustainable music »

Let us greet a new initiative in the web world : Fair Trade Music. Far from the greedy policy of the music industry, FTM gives to new artists the opportunity to broadcast their work.

As the web is developping new business models : here, artists suggest to the internaut a price bracket within the latter can estimate the amount of its musical purchase.
Moreover, he is sure to receive 100% of his benefits !

So, this attitude allows the singer or composer to invest its money in a new album. Other innovation of TFM, for each reknowned albums sold, 5% are granted for the emerging artists. In coherence with its firm equity, FTM promotes only sustainable advertising. Let’s the music play !

La Fabrique du Futur

"Let's be the seeds of our future !"

Last wednesday, I joined the FuturC@mp meeting organized by
the association La F@brique du Futur, initiated in 2006 by a prospectivist expert : Eric Seuillet.

According to him, innovation is not only related to technology, products or services. As citizens are no more passive buyers -consom’actors-,
they can de facto participate to the upstream innovation since they have the opportunity to share aspirations, ideas, networks and projects. Indeed, with this angle of sight, we can un-
derstand that foresight studies and innovation are not only a matter of experts.

La F@brique du Futur‘s mission intends to stimulate and promote this bottom-up innovation without abandonning the idea of sustainable development. Several activities are proposed : meetings, living labs, workshops…

As for me, I participated to the "Delirium" workshop. The question was « what
would be your dreams or projects to be in a near future ? » The results were mainly human-centrics focusing on transmission of know-how ; promotion of skills through 2.0 network -knowledge management-; entrepreneurship school for migrants ; alternative workplaces to those who do not have enough space ; « eco-living » behaviour mixed with urban socialisation -living packaging, printer with infinite reprinted paper sheet… It was really interesting to be part of the deepest desires
and wishes of the « conso-citizen » !

Anyway, as I suggested it before, this collaborative and open association encourages concrete and operational initiatives. So, you are welcome to pop-up in order
to discover the wealth of the exchanges and why not... find your next partner.

As Eric Seuillet says : « La F@brique du Futur is not a Think Tank, it is a Think Network to make projects tangibles ».

Next Round Table conference : " Art, forward-looking, creation "
on Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 / 14h/19h - Bourse du Commerce Paris 2.

Art-titude by H&M

"Contemporary automn"

Damien Hirst is playing the artistic troublemaker by auctioning directly its annual works at Sotheby's, Jeff Koons settles down its sculptures in our ancient Versailles and... fashion is always surfing on the trend !

The H&M automn collection 2008 found inspiration in art and the result is quite as beautiful as a contemporary work. And this, especially looking at the movie :
the atmosphere, mixing the coldness of the place and the colored shadows effects, releases the energy and the sensuality of the brush on the painting cloth.
How could you feel differently as the "model-muse" rocks on the music of Martina Topley-Bird ?

Green-tising

"Cultivons notre jardin publicitaire !"

And the winner is ?...

"Victoires glam"

"Vinnovations"

... Et bien, la décalco Malabar !

A l'eau ! A l'eau !

Telephone mobile "waterplouf" !
